World Record Holder: The World's Deepest Geothermal Hot Spring
The “Great Spring” which feeds mineral water to the 23 soaking pools, won the title of World’s Deepest Geothermal Hot Spring, on August 20th, 2011. The Mother Spring has been measured at a remarkable 1,002 feet in depth, but what makes this record interesting is that no one really knows just how deep the hot spring is. Every time the spring has been measured, the plumb line has run out before reaching the bottom.
The water from the Mother Spring is approximately 144 degrees. The 'mother spring' is a turquoise pool approximately 35 feet across with an average depth of 20-30 ft. About 15 feet from one edge, there is a hole in the bottom of two feet in diameter. This is the main spring that reaches an unknown depth, and is the spring that the hydrologist measured. ~ Guinness World Records 2011

Like the rest of the property, the new hotel is heated naturally using the hot geo-thermal water from the Great Pagosa Hot Spring onsite. ~ EcoLuxe Lodging at The Springs Resort 2009

ABQ Catches Up to ‘Telcom hotel’ Trend
bigbyte's network backbone plugs into four carriers -- Time Warner Telecommunications, MCI, Qwest and Sprint -- and fiber optics bundles snake through the building in wire cages. Uninterrupted power is provided by PNM from two different substations, Nerissa Whittington says, and is backed up with a diesel generator and a bank of batteries. The Whittingtons’ have said they spent millions renovating the 60s-era, former Albuquerque National Bank office building to make it a veritable fortress, from the old bank vault now used to store data to the 24-hour security cameras and card access doors…
…Nerissa Whittington says the company has aggressively targeted "business continuity," especially as interest increased since the Sept. 11 attacks. Businesses can rent office space on a range of price structures contingent on whether a company wants "hot" space -- full connectivity, phone systems and computers with software, or just empty, or "cold" space. Several companies have signed on for disaster recovery plans, she says. BigByte has a staff of computer techs, she says, as well as contracts with network specialists. ~ NM Business Weekly 2002
